Ghana is a nation brimming with youthful potential, yet over 1.3 million young people aged 15-24 are currently not in education, employment, or training (NEET). This reality translates into personal hardship, as these individuals face limited access to quality education, financial constraints, and a lack of mentorship, which can trap them in a cycle of poverty and lead to a loss of dignity and self-worth. The widening skills gap and high youth unemployment rate, sometimes reaching as high as 32.5%, pose a significant challenge to national development, risking social instability and deepening economic inequality.
The Urgency of Now
The real-world consequences of this skills mismatch are severe. Many talented young individuals end up in low-paying, informal jobs that don't match their potential, or face long-term unemployment, which can deteriorate their skills over time. The absence of quality training infrastructure and the persistent negative perception of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) have long been barriers to progress. Inaction means leaving a generation behind, with potential leaders, innovators, and skilled professionals sidelined, while industries struggle to find the competent workforce they need to drive economic growth.
Our Impact: Empowering a Generation
Danqs Foundation Ministries, guided by the scripture in James 1:27, which calls for looking after orphans and widows in their distress, is actively addressing this crisis through the Adwuma Pa (meaning "Good Work" in Twi) project. Our mission is to empower underprivileged youth in Ghana with professional and technical skills, providing an alternative, hands-on pathway to self-reliance and gainful employment.
We offer comprehensive training courses in high-demand fields, including:
- Fashion
- CCTV installation
- Welding
- Makeup Artists
- Carpentry
- Pastry
These programs are designed to equip young people with practical, industry-relevant competencies, breaking down barriers and providing them with the tools needed to secure employment or start their own businesses. While we are still gathering and documenting formal success stories and testimonials for public release, the very nature of our project, focusing on practical skill acquisition and job creation, is designed to generate significant individual and community impact, reducing poverty and fostering a skilled workforce for Ghana's industrial development.
