Across Ghana, thousands of young people are seeking opportunities. Many leave their communities for overcrowded cities, chasing scarce jobs, while fertile land, agricultural potential, and local food systems remain underutilised.
Agriculture, once the backbone of our economy, is now misunderstood by many young people as unprofitable or outdated. Yet the truth is clear: agriculture holds the power to create jobs, strengthen food security, and build sustainable livelihoods—if young people are given the right support.
This is where the Danqs Agriculture Support Project steps in.
Youth unemployment remains one of Ghana’s most pressing challenges. At the same time, the agricultural sector faces an ageing workforce and declining youth participation. Without intervention, this gap threatens food security, economic growth, and rural stability.
Many young Ghanaians want to work, but lack:
Access to education and practical agricultural training
Financial support to start farming ventures
Resources, tools, and mentorship
Motivation to remain in rural communities
When youth abandon agriculture, communities weaken, food costs rise, and poverty deepens.
If we fail to invest in youth agriculture today:
Rural communities will continue to lose their workforce
Urban migration will increase unemployment and social strain
Food insecurity will worsen
Generations of potential farmers and agripreneurs will be lost
But if we act now, we unlock opportunity.
Agriculture can become a pathway to dignity, income, and innovation—not just survival.
The Danqs Agriculture Support Project is designed to encourage, educate, and empower Ghanaian youth to see agriculture as a viable and respected career.
🌱 Education & Mindset Change
We deliver educational programmes that challenge negative perceptions of agriculture and inspire young people to view farming as a modern, profitable, and future-focused profession. We also support students pursuing agriculture-related studies.
🧑🏾🌾 Youth Employment & Job Creation
By creating pathways into agricultural work, the project directly addresses youth unemployment—opening doors to farming, agribusiness, and value-chain opportunities.
🚜 Support for Young Farmers
We provide young farmers with essential resources, guidance, and support to start and sustain their agricultural ventures.
🏡 Community Retention & Development
By empowering youth locally, we reduce rural-to-urban migration and help communities grow stronger, more resilient, and self-sufficient.
Through this initiative, young people are not just learning how to farm—they are learning how to build livelihoods, support their families, and contribute meaningfully to national development.
Communities benefit from:
Increased local food production
New income streams
Reduced unemployment
Renewed pride in agriculture
Each supported youth represents a seed planted for long-term transformation.
Change does not happen alone. It happens when individuals, organisations, and partners come together with purpose.
You can help us:
Train and support a young farmer
Fund agricultural education programs
Create jobs within rural communities
Build a sustainable future for Ghana’s youth
